About the Community Foundation
WHO ARE WE...
Hull Stingrays Community Foundation is a registered charity based in Hull, a sister organisation to the Hull Stingrays Ice Hockey Team. Since relocating to Coventry in 2000 the Hull Stingrays have endeavoured to involve themselves a range of community projects. These include regular school visits, for assemblies, hockey coaching and school promotions, as well as player attendance at hundreds of fund raising events in the area.
Blaze also attach their name to many local worthwhile campaigns an Anti-Domestic Violence, which ran with Sylvain Cloutier & Rumun Ndur championing the cause of reporting Domestic Violence with Coventry Safety Partnership at Coventry City Council. The Blaze also help hundreds of schools, youth groups, charities and organisations to raise money through donations of raffle prizes, and have thus aided in the raising of thousands more pounds for charity.
OUR AIMS
The purpose of setting up the Hull Stingrays Community Foundation is in essence a way to give back what the city of Hull has given to the Stingrays. The support over the years has been overwhelming and the Foundation allows the club to give something back. The aim is to encourage rejuvenation of the city and surrounding boroughs, including efforts to increase employment, education and a safer environment for everyone. The foundation strives to work with local businesses, voluntary organisations and Hull Council to create a better Hull.
HISTORY
Since moving to Hull, the Hull Stingrays have made a great effort to be a big part of the community in Hull and surrounding areas. Over the years the club has developed strong ties with hundreds of schools and local businesses.
The city has welcomed the Stingrays with open arms, and in return, the club has worked hard to not only integrate itself into the community but to actively put something back into the community. The club has brought success and silverware to the city, boasting a range of trophies from Elite League Championships to Knock-Out Cups. Other past campaigns that have featured the Stingrays include an Anti-Litter campaign, a recent no-smoking campaign, a dental hygiene campaign and the Christmas blitz on drink driving to name but a few.
